Dakota von Dever is a beautiful 2 year old German Shepherd with possibly a touch of Husky. If you look up “handsome” in a dictionary, you would likely find a photo of Dakota in there. Dakota exits his kennel with a burst of energy and his excitement to explore is infectious. He is so appreciative of every little thing, snuggling up to his handler to thank them for taking him out. He meets dogs with the same enthusiasm -- and might need to be corrected because not all dogs appreciate his eagerness to say hi. Our medium-to-high energy hunk would love to find an active home. Dakota is extremely people social, smiling from ear to ear when a stranger stops to pet him. You would not see our happy boy without his tail swooshing from left to right. Volunteers refer to him as the “cuddlebug extraodinaire,” since he has been known to cuddle with his humans for hours at the park. In his playgroups, Dakota meets everyone happily and runs around the yard with the enthusiasm of a kid on his birthday. Our kennel workers try to correct him but always end up laughing with him and, with his good nature and tolerance towards all the other dogs in there, there is never a thing to worry about with Dakota. If Dakota sounds like your dream dog, hurry down and ask to meet him – he will not be here long.
